The pedestrianised street in Hue City was opened on the evening of September 29, attracting a large number of visitors.
The street was launched after more than one month being approved by local authorities. It is located in Phu Hau Ward, stretching the three streets of Pham Ngu Lao-Chu Van An and Vo Thi Sau.
Nguyen Van Thanh, chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, the street is aimed to diversify the municipal tourism products.
Vehicles are banned on the pedestrianised street from 6 pm to 2 am the next day on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
There are many business and tourism services along the streets with attractive decorations. Flower vases and instruction signs are also put on the street.
Visitors can enjoy street art performances in the street as well various kinds of traditional Hue food.
Pham Ngu Lao, Chu Van And and Vo Thi Sau have been nicknamed “streets for foreigners” in Hue for a long time. Before being pedestrianised, these streets lured around 1,400 visitors per day, with the majority being foreigners.
