VietNamNet Bridge - At around 11am yesterday, February 17, hundreds of curious people gathered along the 19/5 canal on Le Trong Tan Road, Tay Thanh Ward, HCM City, to witness the police examining the scene and fishing a “human arm" from the black canal.

At the scene rumors had it that the arm was left from a murder or gangsters cut off the arm of a debtor and threw it to the canal.

Earlier, many children were terrified when they saw a human arm floating on the canal. Some people reported to the police. Immediately, the police were present at the scene to salvage the arm.

However, Lieutenant Colonel Tang Chau Long, Deputy Chief of Tan Phu District Police confirmed that the arm is just a plastic prosthetic arm, a toy arm for the Halloween that was thrown to the canal by someone.
