VietNamNet Bridge – Up to 700 books, documents and pictures of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the East Sea, particularly the Hoang Sa (Paracels) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands are showcased at an exhibition which opened on July 8, in the central province of Quang Ngai.

The exhibition, entitled “Our sea and islands”, is jointly held by the Library of Quang Ngai province and the libraries of some neighboring provinces, to support the National Tourism Year in Central and Southern Coastal Region – Phu Yen Province 2011.

The exhibition introduces 350 books, 300 documents and 50 photos of the beauty of Vietnam’s sea and islands.

Many documents emphasize Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly Islands. Among them are ancient documents related to the Nguyen Dynasty’s Hoang Sa Flotila’s operations in the East Sea and on the Paracels and Spratly Islands hundreds of years ago.

Some documentaries about Vietnam’s sea and islands are also screened at the exhibition in order to stimulate the sense of sovereignty and love of Vietnam’s sea and islands among the audience.

The exhibition will close on July 16.
