VietNamNet Bridge – The annual pilgrim festival worshipping Hung Kings, ancestors of the Vietnamese people, will be held between April 13 and 19 in the northern province of Phu Tho.

This year's festival, which will be held over a longer period than previous events, will involve a ceremony in which a certificate will be presented for continuing the Hung Kings worship traditions and preserving the cultural heritage of the province. UNESCO representatives will present the certificate and the ceremony, which is to be broadcast live at 8pm, April 13, on VTV1 channel.
The event will feature typical aspects of local culture such as hat xoan (folk spring singing), a square cake-making contest, a bronze drum performance contest, and traditional wrestling.
Beside the host Phu Tho, eight provinces nationwide including Lang Son, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Binh Dinh, Dac Lac, Dong Nai and Ba Ria Vung Tau will join in festivities.
