Update news hung kings temple
An incense offering ceremony was held in the northern province of Phu Tho on April 14, or the tenth day of the third lunar month, to commemorate the national founders, the Hung Kings.
Millions of people have been rushing to attend Hung Kings Festival in the northern province of Phu Tho.
The Hung Kings Temple (Den Hung) -- a complex of temples- was first built in the 10th century on the Nghia Linh Mountains, 10km from Viet Tri City in the midland province of Phu Tho, and 90km from Hanoi.
A Phu Tho province’s official has confirmed that the “strange rock” was moved out of the Hung Kings Temple. However, some scientists have voiced a concern that the stone is a bad amulet that can affect the sacred temple.
Affirming that the strange rock is not in the approved list of objects displayed at the Hung Kings Temple, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has asked Phu Tho to remove it out of the temple.
Incense offerings and various activities have been organised nationwide to commemorate Hung Kings, the nation’s legendary founders, on April 19, the tenth day of the third lunar month.
The front and back of the rock at the Thuong Temple, in the relic of Hung Kings Temple in Phu Tho province, have unknown characters and square patterns. It is rumored that the stone is a form of enchantment.
