VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese Vu Thi Huong is the Asia's best 300m sprinter, according to the Asian Athletics Association.

Huong topped the region after reaching the finishing line in a lightning 38.64 seconds at the Pliezhausen track-and-field tournament in Germany on May 22.

Huong's favourite distances are 100m and 200m. However, these distances are dominated by Asian Games 2010 champion Chisato Fukushima of Japan.

Viet Nam pocketed two silvers and one bronze at the World Xianqi (Chinese chess) Championship in Indonesia on the weekend.

Nguyen Hoang Yen won a silver in the women's competition with 7.5 points, behind China's Tang Dan.

Teammates Nguyen Thanh Bao and Vo Minh Tri won a silver in the men's doubles' event.

Bao went on to win a bronze in the men's singles with seven points.

Jiang Chuan and Xu Yinchuan, both from China, finished top and second, respectively.
