The I Move Co. introduced a mobile taxi booking app called iMove on July 15, which allows taxi users to quickly order a taxi from any taxi company anytime.

Director of I Move Mr. Truong Trong Hao said that iMove has been launched because many taxi companies have been dealing with unfair competition from controversial taxi booking apps.

“The company will work directly with taxi companies legally and overtly,” Mr. Hao said, adding that the app will support the development of local taxi companies as well as ensure the best protection and safety for users.  

The company, however, would not give any concessions to customers or drivers to install and use the iMove app, as Uber and GrabTaxi have done, according to Mr. Hao, to ensure there is no unfair competition among taxi companies.

The app, which will be available in AppStore and Google in August, can be downloaded on Android, iOS and Windows. The company has also launched a taxi booking website at www.imovecorp.com with similar services.

Other mobile taxi apps currently available in Vietnam include Uber, GrabTaxi and Vinasun Taxi, which has released by the Vinasun Corporation in April.
