Recently, 14 trucks with Chinese number plates were reported to be transporting quicklime, hydro-power parts and coke coal.

The trucks are not covered by road transport agreements signed between Viet Nam and China.

Under Circular 23/2012/TT-BGTVT issued last year, there are two freight routes from China to Viet Nam through Thanh Thuy-Tianbao border gate. However, they have not been officially opened.
