After falling short in two previous seasons of Vietnam Project Runway – a reality television series for up-and-coming designers, the 23-year-old student from the Hoa Sen University, HCM City, Nguyen Tien Truyen won the show at the grand finale on Saturday night.
Some photos of the final night:
Truyen beat Giang Tu and Tran Hung with his collection Chau A Tuong
Lai (Asia's Future), which was inspired by the crane – a bird, that in
Asia culture, represents for longevity.
Using three basic colours – white, black, and red – and formed in
unique shapes, judges said the collection showed Truyen's "extraordinary
improvement in creativeness".
Judge Cong Tri said that Truyen's designs have brought the material [cloth] onto a new level.
"You
are the one who proves that fashion is another form of fabric, but it
is extraordinary and perfect," Tri, who is also a designer said.
