VietNamNet Bridge – Da Nang City in coordination with Surf Live Saving Vietnam held an international marine rescue contest themed A Festival for Coast Guards on September 7.

The contest attracted 17 teams, comprising five each, from renown resorts in Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An, Danang, Australia, Thailand and the Philippines.

They competed in categories related to marine search and rescue like swimming, running, surfing and boating.

Nguyen Duc Vu, Deputy Head of the Managing Board of Son Tra Peninsula, said this was the first time the contest has been held in the central region.

It aims to create a mechanism for teams from Vietnam and foreign countries to exchange experience in search and rescue activities at beaches.
