VietNamNet Bridge – A luxury public toilet, the first of its kind in Hanoi, has opened at 38 Hang Giay Street.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, who lives nearby, said providing clean toilets like this leaves a good impression on local residents and tourists about the Old Quarter.

The Thang Long SP Trade & Real Estate Investing JSC, who built the toilet, is also building two more, at 5 Hang Giay Street and 50 Gia Ngu Street. The total cost of the three new toilets is estimated at VND2 billion ($89,360).

According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, Hanoi has about 340 public toilets but they fall short of what people expect.
