VietNamNet Bridge - Rings, necklaces, bracelets and other pieces of jewelry are made manually from colorful wires. Each jewelry is priced from VND50,000 ($2.5) to more than VND1 million ($50).


A jewelry shop on Cach Mang Thang 8 Road, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City has designed many unique jewelry made from copper core inside electric wires, attached with stones. All products are handmade.

 

 

 

     

    This is a small facility, employing mainly students. The shop produces more than 1,000 products, such as rings, pendants, bracelets, key chains and other items each month.

    "Copper wires with their flexible nature and natural color are the ideal material for jewelry design," a member of the shop’s design team said.

     

     

     

    Glass bottles are used to measure the size of bracelets.

     

     

    A worker named Phuong said: "It takes just 15-30 minutes to complete a ring or a bracelet. The most important step is design new products. It takes hours, even days to sketch the new design."

     

     

     

    Thanh Huy, the shop owner, who also initiated the idea of making jewelry from copper wire, said this kind of product sold well.

     

     

     

     

    Each ring is priced at VND50,000 to VND70,000.

     

    The shop plans to organize classes to help customers make their own jewelry.

     

     

    A set of jewelry including a bracelet, a ring, and a necklace costs VND450,000 to VND1 million, depending on the style and type of stone attached.
