Hanoi Railway Station was formerly known as Hang Co Station. It is the railway hub of the northern region. As the largest railway station in the country, the station serves nearly 4 million passengers each year. Over three months ago, the station carried out a major upgrade.

The biggest change is the new platform which is refreshing, clean and beautiful. The surface is painted with anti-slip paint, while the lighting system, walls and columns are also embellished.

It is now very easy for passengers to get on the train. Thanks to the new roof system, passengers don’t have to worry about the weather anymore.

Some flyovers are built so passengers don’t have to cross the railway.

LED signs are installed throughout the station.

More flower pots have been placed in the station.

Hotline phone numbers are posted in easy-to-observe places so passengers can promptly report any problem to service staff and station managers.

These changes are in the first phase of the facelift project with a total budget of over VND65 billion (over $3 million). The Hanoi Railway Station is working on the second phase of the project, which is scheduled to be completed before the Lunar New Year 2015.
