According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression is currently active in the eastern region of the Philippines as of October 21.

As of 4:00pm of October 21, the center of the tropical depression was located around 13.5°N latitude and 131.0°E longitude, approximately 1,300 km southeast of Luzon, Philippines. The maximum wind speed near the center was measured at level 7 (50-61 km/h), with gusts reaching level 9.

Forecasts suggest that over the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will primarily move in a west-northwest direction and is expected to intensify into a storm. By 4:00pm on October 22, the storm's center is predicted to be on the eastern waters off the Philippines, with maximum wind speeds at level 8 (62-75 km/h) and gusts up to level 11. Sea waves could rise between 3-4 meters.

The weather agency anticipates that the storm will likely move into the East Sea around October 25.

From the afternoon and evening of October 24, the eastern seas of the northern East Sea (east of longitude 118.5°E) are expected to experience increasing wind speeds, reaching level 8 near the storm’s center, with gusts between levels 9-10 and peaks at level 12. The sea will be very rough, with waves ranging from 3-5 meters, and thunderstorms accompanied by dangerous whirlwinds.
