VietNamNet Bridge - Young people in Hanoi wore glowing rings, sang and had fun during "Earth Hour 2015" when lights were turned off for one hour.

The Earth Hour usually takes place on the evening of the last Saturday night of March. This year Hanoi held the event one week earlier. This is the 9th campaign that has been organized in the world and the 7th in Vietnam.

The event is jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam and donors to promote the effective use of energy and raise awareness about energy saving in Vietnam.

After Hanoi, other localities across the country will host the event on the evening of March 28.

At 7.30pm on March 22, thousands of young people gathered at the August Revolution Square in Hanoi to await the Earth Hour.

Most of them were students and volunteers from clubs for environmental activities.

A new feature of this year's program was the appearance of a large panel, where young people left their marks with the message 'save power and protect the global environment'.

At 8.30pm, the lights went out. At that time there was only a light emitting from the bracelets of the attendants.

Trang Tien Street turned dark. Hanoi switched off the street lights, the light on advertising billboards in an hour in some public areas and main streets in Hoan Kiem District.
