VietNamNet Bridge - After half a year of construction, thousands of rocks now line the Dong Nai River. Seen from a satellite, the site is like a "tumor" on the riverbank.

Recently the People's Committee of Dong Nai approved the project "Improving the landscape and urban development along the Dong Nai River" conducted by Toan Thinh Phat Company.

The project has a total area of over 80,000 square meters, of which the encroached land on to the Dong Nai River covers 70,000 square meters.

According to investors, a complex of office buildings, villas, apartments, 4 and 5 star hotels and a park will be built on the area.

Many people are worrying that this project will alter the flow, and adversely affect the current status of Dong Nai River.



The river section in Quyet Thang Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province is filled with rock and soil covering an area of up to tens of thousands of square meters.


It was Sunday, but many excavators and bulldozers were still working.


There are two areas being filled.

A cape has been formed and increasingly reaches out to the river.


The rocks are encroaching on the downstream river.


After pouring large rocks into the river, small rocks will be spread over the surface for flatness.


On the upstream side, the river has been filled up to create a rock ground of nearly 100 meters wide, over 200m long.


The ground is still being expanded.


Previously, the river bank was close to the houses in the picture.


This section of river will disappear in the coming months.
