Diwali is the Indian Festival of Lights, the biggest and most important holiday of the year in the South Asian country. It is celebrated in early autumn after the conclusion of the summer harvest. Meanwhile, Dussehra marks the victory of Lord Ram and his joyous return to his people and Kingdom.

The two festivals are celebrated to mark the victory of light over darkness, of good over evil and of right over might. These Indian festivals are also celebrated in many Southeast Asian countries.

By organizing these festivals in Vietnam, the Indian Embassy wishes to provide meaningful cultural experiences to Vietnamese and other friends of India.

The entrance to Diwali and Dussehra Celebration is open to public and free of charge. Those interested may register online or directly contact the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center via phone number 02436332083 or email culture@indembassy.com.vn.
