The star performer for this event is a household name in India and every part of the world populated by Indian diasporas – Kumar Sanu.

Kumar Sanu has won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer award for five consecutive years, no mean feat in a Bollywood stable teeming with outstanding talent.

Accompanying the top-notch music show are the "usual suspects", said Ramesh Mohan Anand, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (INCHAM) in HCM City.

Leading Indian restaurants in the City will "do full justice" to the diversity that Indian cuisine boasts, he explained, adding that a lavish buffet will present dishes from every corner of the Indian subcontinent.

Ramesh Anand said that as usual, part of the event's proceeds will be donated to charity, noting that last year's donation was made to the Tan Dinh Charity, which cares for mentally challenged people.

The year's Diwali celebrations in HCM City will be held at the White Palace Convention Centre in Phu Nhuan District from 6pm onwards.
