VietNamNet Bridge – The 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet wrapped up in Ha Noi yesterday (Nov 25) with Indonesia dominating the annual tournament with 19 gold, 12 silver and 41 bronze medals.

Thailand placed second with five gold, eight silver and four bronze medals while the Philippines placed third with three gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

Viet Nam, the hosts, won only twice in five categories of rifles, carbines, men's and women's pistol and machine guns.

More than 300 marksmen from 10 regional contingents took part in the event at the Mieu Mon National Training Centre since November 19.

Organisers said the tournament demonstrated the beauty of relations among ASEAN armies and served as an opportunity for the armies to promote solidarity, friendship, mutual trust and understanding.
