The deputy minister also encouraged enterprises to research One ID solution, which allows a person to use only one account for all services on the Internet.

The solution will help users avoid personal risk, while helping businesses manage user information easier.

"Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC)'s agencies should collaborate with firms to study One ID solution to soon put it into practice," deputy Tuan emphasised.

According to Nguyen Huy Dung, deputy director of the Information Security Department, account hacking and appropriation were the most common cases on social networks recently.

Hackers appropriate user's accounts to swindle other users and spread viruses and malware through social networks.

These "unsafe" behaviours are widespread on social networks, especially Facebook.

As many domestic enterprises allow users to sign in by Facebook account to use services, therefore, they are at risk of losing information safety if their Facebook accounts are hacked.

Therefore, Dung recommended enterprises use One ID solution to protect users' information.

Additionally, deputy minister Phan Tam also noted that enterprises should ensure the safety for news websites.

Tam requested agencies under the ministry such as Information Security Department and the Viet Nam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT) to instruct enterprises to implement law provisions on technical infrastructure and review mechanisms to rescue each other when an incident occurs.

The number of social network users in the country has hit millions of people so if there were problem, it would influence significantly on the activities of the society, he added.

By November 10 this year, there are 1,599 news websites licensed.

The Ministry of Information and Communications granted licences for 100 social networks since Circular 09/2014 of the Ministry took effect in October last year.
