VietNamNet Bridge – The Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) has announced it will make its database on overseas workers public in an effort to help those who want to work overseas.
Information including salaries offered in other countries, the demand for foreign labour and sample contracts, will be posted on DOLAB's web portal.
Recent labour violations and a list of foreign companies who have had their operating licenses removed will also be made public.
DOLAB also said it would be keeping a database of Vietnamese people working abroad in an effort to monitor the outflow of domestic workers.
The database will be updated with information from foreign companies who will be required to report on labour contracts and working conditions.
Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, director of the Department of Overseas Labour said making the information public would place greater responsibility on foreign companies and provide greater protections for Vietnamese workers against fraudulent and exploitative practices.
