VietNamNet Bridge - The first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of a 19-aircraft deal joined Vietnam Airlines’ fleet on August 2.

Vietnam Airlines is the first carrier in the Asia-Pacific region to receive the world’s leading aircraft, the Dreamliner and the Airbus A350-900XWB.

The national flag carrier will receive a second Dreamliner on August 10, and another 17 aircraft over the next five years, as it upgrades its fleet for long-haul flights.

The Dreamliner will take its flight on August 4 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and then be used on the Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City--London route in September.
