Those interested artists should submit their sketches to the authority of the World Heritage-listed town. Environmental and cultural factors would be taken into account to select the five best sketches, and the winners would be assigned to the five streets to translate their ideas into reality from mid-November.
In installation art, artists design mixed-media constructions or assemblages for a specific place and for a certain period of time.
Hoi An will hold an event at the Kazik Park on Tran Phu Street on November 22 to publicly introduce the installation art works in celebration of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day. The works will be on display until December 4, the day when the town was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
Nguyen Van Son, vice chairman of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, said the “Hoi An Heritage Street Corner” event would help promote tourism development in the town.
