VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training last weekend granted awards to 70 excellent mathematical works and gave scholarships to Math students at Natural University in Ho Chi Minh City.

70 math works were selected from 210 entries published in international math within two years 2013 and 2014. One of authors of every entry is a university lecturer and no one is author of three winning works.

Authors of each winning entry received VND25.3 million (US$1,161)

On this occasion, the organizers also gave 475 scholarships to Math-majored students in senior high schools and universities across the country. Each scholarship is worth VND7.47 million (US$343) for the first semester and VND8 million (US$ 367) for the second semester.

Deputy Education and Training Bui Van Ga said that the ministry has allocated VND25 billion (US$ 1,148,000) in three years to reward Math works’ authors and Math students who gained good achievements in study.
