The International Dance Festival 2017 will open on Saturday (September 16) in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
The 7-day event is co-organized by the Performing Arts Department and Vietnam Dancing Artists Association. It is expected to draw the participation of 15 international and 9 local art troupes.
The festival aims to promote cooperation in arts and culture between Vietnam and other nations in the world and elevate the image of the land and people of Vietnam to international friends.
A panel of judges includes artists and researchers from other nations and Vietnam. Vietnam is elected to chair the Arts Council.
Organizers said the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will present gold and silver medals to outstanding art items selected by the Arts Council.
