A Belgian national, who has been intentionally wanted by the Interpol since 2006 for sexual abuse, has been arrested in the central province of Khanh Hoa.
Pelsener Didier, 75, was nabbed on December 19 by Khanh Hoa police while withdrawing cash at an automated teller machine on Hung Vuong Street in Nha Trang City.
According to the Interpol, Pelsener had sexually abused his adopted daughters for a long time before his crime was uncovered in 2006.
His eldest adopted daughter was sexually abused for 13 years from the age of 8 to 20 while her younger sister was abused from 8 to 16 years old.
Pelsender used a fake Venezuelan passport under the name of Luis Beltran Gonzalez to enter Vietnam since late 2007 through Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Son Nhat international airport.
During his stay in Vietnam, he often travelled between the southern province of Dong Nai, and the central provinces of Binh Thuan and Khanh Hoa.
In Nha Trang, the man lived in a rental guesthouse room at 5 Hang Ca Street, where local police seized his laptop, plus some CDs and DVDs.
Khanh Hoa police are working with the Ministry of Public Security and the Interpol office in Vietnam to carry out further investigations into the case.
