Nguyen Duc The, director of Phuong Nam Theater, said despite the high cost of bringing international circus performers to the city, the theater has still managed to arrange international-standard circus performances for Vietnamese revelers during Tet holiday (Lunar New Year), which starts on February 8.

The five-continent circus performance program is co-organized with Hong Loc animal circus troupe based in Hanoi. Combining circus and music performances, the program comes with five parts with each about a continent.

On the stage will be acrobatic, juggling and elephant performances of foreign performers as well as rolling, cycling, and swinging performances of Vietnamese artists.

Hong Loc, head of Hong Loc animal circus troupe, said that since the monkey is the animal sign of the coming new lunar year, he has prepared a performance featuring seven monkeys apart from performances with a bear, a crocodile and a python.

Tickets cost VND120,000 (US$5.4) to VND250,000 each.
