VietNamNet Bridge – The second International Contemporary Dance Festival 2014 will take place in HCMC this Sunday until December 16, featuring a host of dancers and choreographers from Italy, South Korea, France, Japan, Israel, the Philippines, Sweden and the host country Vietnam.

This year’s dance festival aims to build a new platform in the city and create a real dialog among different cultures and talents. The event is organized by HCMC Performance Organizing and Film Co., Arabesque Co. and Dancenter.

Vietnamese representatives taking part in the festival are dancers of HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera as well as Arabesque.

Several talented foreign dancers in the event include Ea Torrado (the Philippines), Claudio Malangone (Italy), Sung Yong Kim (South Korea), Franco Scavetta (Norway) and Marie Mougeolle (France).

In addition, there will be a number of presentations, discussions and workshops carried out by some world-famous choreographers with the participation of dance lovers and students of the city’s universities.

Three official night performances scheduled for November 12-13 at GEM Center (8 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, District 1) and November 16 at the city’s Opera House (7 Lam Son Square, District 1) will introduce varied contemporary dancing styles around the world to the audience.

Plus, an additional performance with free access slated for this Sunday evening will be staged for the public at the HCMC Youth Cultural Center at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street in District 1.
