Vietnam is among the first countries globally where the iPhone 17 series is being released. Apple’s online store lists estimated delivery times for all four models, ranging from September 20 to October 13.
Among the lineup, the iPhone 17 Pro Max in orange appears to be the most sought-after model, with delivery dates stretching from October 6 to October 13 - much later than the others. Customers who order the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro (except the orange version), or the iPhone Air may receive their devices as early as September 20.
This year, Apple has introduced a new 2TB storage option for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, making it the most expensive model in the series, priced at 63.999 million VND (approximately $2,560). The most affordable is the standard iPhone 17 with 256GB, priced at 24.999 million VND (approximately $1,000).
Apple's official resellers in Vietnam have launched aggressive promotional campaigns. For example, CellphoneS is offering trade-in support worth up to 5 million VND (about $200) and an additional 2 million VND discount for payments made via linked credit cards or e-wallets.
Customers can also opt for a “3-Zero” installment plan - zero down payment, zero interest, and zero service fees - for up to 12 months. Smember members enjoy additional benefits such as exclusive perks and accessory discounts.
Retailers flooded with preorders
The four iPhone models are available for preorder starting September 12 and will officially go on sale in Vietnam on September 19, with base prices starting from 24.99 million VND.
FPT Shop and F.Studio are offering similar deals, including 0% interest installment plans, trade-in programs, and discounts for e-wallet or bank card payments. Customers can also place a small deposit to reserve early delivery.
Other major retailers like Di Động Việt, Minh Tuấn Mobile, and Viettel Store are running preorder programs during the same window, offering familiar incentives such as trade-ins, installment plans, and payment discounts.
Thế Giới Di Động (Mobile World) reported receiving 80,000 deposits in under an hour. Hoàng Hà Mobile received 9,896 orders for the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air within the first 10 minutes of registration. ShopDunk saw 9,539 registrations within 15 minutes.
As predicted, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the top choice among Vietnamese buyers. A day earlier, Xuan Chiew, Senior Analyst at Omdia, told VietNamNet that Vietnamese users show an "unusual preference" for high-end iPhone models. In the first half of 2025, the Pro Max accounted for nearly half of all iPhone shipments in the country.
