Three new colors appear together

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the foldable iPhone Ultra, are now just days away from their official debut.

As users await Apple’s major launch event, a new image has surfaced online showing what are said to be iPhone 18 Pro SIM trays in all three expected colors.

Based on the image, Apple appears set to introduce an intriguing color lineup for this year’s iPhone Pro models. And it may not be difficult to pick out the most eye-catching option.

Previous leaks have suggested that the iPhone 18 Pro will come in three main colors: black or gray, Sky Blue and Dark Cherry.

Those reports have now gained further support from a highly regarded industry source, who shared an image showing someone holding three SIM trays corresponding to the rumored new colors.

Notably, no similar information has emerged about the standard iPhone 18 or iPhone Air 2. Previous reports suggest the two devices will not debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, with Apple instead expected to launch them early next year together with the iPhone 18e.

Could black return to the iPhone 18 Pro?

Of the three colors revealed in the leak, the black option is perhaps attracting the most attention.

Black has long been one of the most popular smartphone colors worldwide, but Apple dropped it from the iPhone 17 Pro lineup launched last year.

If Apple does bring black back with the iPhone 18 Pro, its return is likely to be welcomed by many users.

However, judging by the SIM tray on the far left of the leaked image, the color could actually be gray rather than black.

It is also possible that Apple is using a silver finish. However, some previous reports suggested that silver had been dropped from the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

Even so, the absence of a black option on the iPhone 17 Pro does not appear to have significantly affected the lineup’s appeal.

The iPhone 17 is still believed to be among the best-selling smartphone lineups of 2026 and has reportedly continued to post strong sales into the second quarter of this year, even after Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series entered the market.

Could Dark Cherry become the signature iPhone 18 Pro color?

While black or gray offers a familiar look and Sky Blue brings a younger feel, Dark Cherry appears to be the genuinely distinctive choice for this year’s iPhone 18 Pro.

According to leaks, Dark Cherry is the name given to a new deep cherry-red finish. It is seen as a softer, more restrained alternative to Cosmic Orange, the striking orange shade that sparked considerable debate on the iPhone 17 Pro.

Reactions to Dark Cherry have so far been mixed. Some users consider it too bold, while others believe it could be one of the most attractive colors Apple has ever used for an iPhone Pro.

Like the new design of the iPhone 17 Pro, however, Dark Cherry may take some time for users to warm to.

Colors that initially divide opinion can sometimes become more appealing once people see them on the actual device.

Compared with previous standout finishes such as Cosmic Orange and Desert Titanium, Dark Cherry could have broader appeal, offering a premium look without feeling overly flashy.

The shade appears distinctive enough to make the new iPhone stand out, while avoiding the overly bright character of some previous special color options.

Of course, the leaked image cannot fully confirm the final colors of the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple could still change their names or surface finishes before the devices officially make their debut.
