Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday described the nuclear talks with world powers "constructive."

"It is a constructive meeting," Zarif said after he met foreign ministers of the five UN Security Council permanent members and Germany, the so-called P5+1 group, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Zarif said the discussions were "substantive" and he hopes the issue will be resolved in a timely fashion and in a way that addresses both the needs of the Iranian people and the concerns of the international community.

The question is, he added, whether positive words would bring serious deeds.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry also called the meeting "constructive," but noted that there remains "a lot of work to be done."

Kerry said he hopes that they will bring concrete results to the outstanding questions regarding Iran's nuclear program.
