VietNamNet Bridge – Mr. Dao Hong Tuyen, the boss of Quang Ninh-based Tuan Chau Group, known as the “Lord of Tuan Chau Island”, has offered 1,000 free hotel rooms in Tuan Chau resort for flood victims in Quang Ninh.

According to the announcement released by Tuan Chau Group on Friday, besides the free shelters in 3-4 star hotel rooms, flood victims will be also provided free food.

This Rolls Royce Phantom was donated to flood victims.

Last week Tuyen donated a Rolls Royce Phantom worth VND39 billion (nearly $2 million) and VND2 billion ($100,000) of cash for flood victims in Quang Ninh. The car will be auctioned at the starting price of VND16 billion, Quang Ninh authorities said.

Tuan Chau is an island in Ha Long Bay and well-known for its hotel resorts. It is a major tourism destination in Quang Ninh Province.

Torrential rain has caused over VND1 trillion in losses to Quang Ninh. Many houses have been swept away by flash floods and landslides. At least seven people have died and 10 are missing.

Tuyen, 61, is a well-known businessman who is the chairman of Tuan Chau Group, which is headquartered on Tuan Chau Island in the province’s Ha Long City. Tuyen has been developing a huge project there.

Besides the Tuan Chau International Tourism & Recreation Complex on the island, Tuyen also owns many companies and plants with tens of thousands of workers.

Tuyen is considered one of the richest people in Vietnam.
