FPT Technology Products Co Ltd will preload Facebook Apps for Java on FPT branded phones as of October.
The move follows FPT's becoming an official "preferred developer consultant" for Facebook.
Users will be able to log directly onto Facebook instead of using a web browser.
Viettel dominates cable network in Cambodia
Military-run telecom Viettel has deployed more than 16,000km of fibre optics for its Metfone network and is now has the biggest internet coverage in Cambodia.
According to a report from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia (MPTC), cable network coverage in the country has increased 17 fold in five years.
Metfone has 80 per cent of the network coverage in the country. Its network is 13 times greater than that of the entire cable network developed by Cambodia in the last 10 years.
Metfone is one of the nine biggest operators in Cambodia.
Intel introduces English learning software on PC
Intel Viet Nam, in partnership with the British Council, on Thursday introduced English learning software for primary and secondary school students in Viet Nam.
The software aims to help Vietnamese students master English faster through daily interaction while studying, working or playing.
The package consists of the British Council's English language lessons pre-loaded onto Intel-powered PCs. It provides learners with games, articles, songs, stories, and grammar and vocabulary exercises with a Vietnamese interface to help parents and children navigate the package.
This activity is part of Intel's long-haul initiative "PC for Life" executed by Intel and the Ministry of Information and Communication.
FPT Information System Pte established
FPT Information System Pte made its debut in Singapore this week.
FPT Information System Singapore, based at No9 Temasek Boulevard, will represent its mother company FPT Information System (FPT IS) in the Singapore.
The company, which has a starting capital of US$500,000, will target small and medium-sized enterprises who are looking for good competitively priced IT products and services.
FPT IS has also expanded its presence in Laos and Cambodia.
Mobifone accelerates rolling out Sim Vietpay
MobiFone has conducted a customers' meeting to unveil its Vietpay Sim to retailers in Ha Noi.
It is part of the on-going national launch and user training programme for Sim Vietpay.
Sim Vietpay allows retailers to pay less in terms of input costs than when they use the traditional scratch card.
Vietcombank to deploy e-wallet service
Vietcombank is partnering with online mobile services provider M – Service Co Ltd to provide an online payment service for Vinaphone subscribers who bank with Vietcombank and use MoMo e-wallet.
The service, starting from next Monday, allows customers to make online deposits and withdrawals between their bank accounts and MoMo accounts.
The MoMo e-wallet enables customers to make direct payments through their mobile phones for bills such as internet, games, mobile phones and landline phones.
