According to a statement from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, on November 3, the Japanese Government announced the recipients of its Autumn 2025 national decorations.

Among the honorees were three Vietnamese individuals recognized for their significant contributions to strengthening the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

Specifically, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, 85, received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, Japan’s highest distinction. The award acknowledges his contributions to deepening the relationship and fostering close ties between the two nations.

Former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, 76, was also awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, in recognition of his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Vietnam.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, 66, former President of the Vietnam Alumni Association in Japan and former Rector of CMC University, received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette. He was honored for his efforts in promoting close friendship, academic exchange, and mutual understanding between the two countries.

The Embassy of Japan emphasized that the individuals honored on this occasion were selected for their significant contributions to the development of Japan-Vietnam relations.

The presentation of these prestigious Japanese decorations to outstanding Vietnamese individuals not only reflects appreciation for their personal efforts but also symbolizes the long-standing, trustworthy, and profound friendship between Vietnam and Japan built over many decades.
