Japan’s NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) will cooperate with the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) to provide global connection for internet service providers (ISP) and internet commerce providers (ICP) in Vietnam through NTT Com’s Tier-1 network before June 2011.

This upcoming cooperation was announced on April 26.

Vietnam’s ISPs and ICPs will have new ways to supply customers with advanced internet environments and connection to services around the world.

The Tier-1 network will allow direct connection with ISPs in more than 150 countries around the globe. The cooperation will provide IPv6/IPv4 companies in Vietnam connections to NTT Com’s Tier-1 IPv6 network.

NTT Com’s branch in Vietnam will cooperate with VNNIC to supply services and support high-technology for customers to change from IPv4 to IPv6.

* India helps Vietnam build IT resource centre

Vietnam-India Advanced Information Technology Resource Centre will be established in Hanoi by August with the support of the Indian government.

Being carried out by the Indian Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the US$2 million-project will offer a wide range of human resource training in the fields of information technology, communications and pedagogy.

The specially-designed curricula will help State officials, especially those working in IT improve their knowledge without going abroad for further training in the field.

Once operating, the centre will provide direct assistance in e-governance solutions for various Vietnamese ministries and departments.
