Vietnam Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always regards Japan as a development partner of prime importance while presenting his credentials to Emperor Akihito at the Tokyo-based Royal Palace on July 31.

At the presentation ceremony, the Vietnamese diplomat extended regards from President Truong Tan Sang and other senior leaders to the Japanese Emperor and Empress.

He also expressed his great honour to assume his tasks in Japan and pledged his best efforts to propel the extensive strategic partnership between the two nations forward in the future.

Emperor Akihito told his guest that he is very pleased with the growing bilateral ties in various realms in conformance with the two peoples’ interests.

The Emperor congratulated Ambassador Cuong on taking on the new task while hoping that Cuong, during his term of office, will make great contributions to stepping up all-round cooperation between Vietnam and Japan through regular exchange visits to Japanese localities.
