The northern province of Lao Cai is proving popular with visitors as its Japanese cherry blossoms at Sapa near Mount Fansipan are blooming.
Sapa has seen sunshine after cold weather, making the trees bloom quickly.
Thousands of Japanese cherry trees have been planted successfully in Sapa District.
The Japanese cherry blossoms were presented by the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association on the occasion of 100th anniversary of its establishment in 2003. The cherry trees have blossomed annually since 2007.
They were first grown in the campus of Sapa District People's Committee, Ham Rong tourism site and then gradually brought to other areas, including Hoang Lien Son National Park, the central area of the town, hotels, and local households.
Thousands of other Japanese cherry blossoms have been planned to be grown in Sapa in the coming time.
