The Japan Football Federation is sending coaches to train Vietnam’s U-15 and U-17 teams, which should greatly enhance the teams’ chances for future success.
Japan Professional Football League (J-League) Chairman Mitsuru Murai made the announcement at a gala dinner in Ho Chi Minh City on August 20 presenting football awards to outstanding players for the 2014 season.
He emphasised the necessity of educating the players in ethics, along with improving their athletic skills.
In other football news, the Vietnam Olympic squad are gathering at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) training centre in preparation for the 2014 Asian Games (ASIAD 17), taking place from September 18 to October 4 in Incheon, the Republic of Korea.
Prior to the tourney, they face off with Brazil and Pakistan in two friendly matches on September 4 and 8.
