Elegant ikebana flower arrangements, together with hundreds of multicoloured flowers from Japan, are on display at “The Beautiful Japanese” – a special event that aims to introduce to Hanoi’s people the fresh flowers from the Land of the Rising Sun.

A piece by Japanese flower communicator Chiharu Suzuki on display in a workshop on the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ikebana, in Hanoi.



The special event, which is co-organised by the Hanoi-based Métaphore Flower Boutique and Omori, the leading flower wholesaler in Japan, presents 50 different kinds of fresh flowers from Japan.

Speaking at a press conference on the event on February 28, Omori representative Hirotaka Sato said that with 50 years of experience in the flower industry and a highly efficient network, his company commits to deliver high-quality flower products.

“Omori sets new standards of distribution efficiency to foster the growth of floriculture and to develop the understanding that flowers contribute much to the material and spiritual enrichment of human being.

“Through Métaphore, one of the pioneers in the art of European contemporary arrangement in Hanoi, we hope to bring Japanese flowers closer to the capital’s residents,” he said. 

Also on Febraury 28, Japanese flower communicator Chiharu Suzuki conducted a workshop on the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ikebana, in Hanoi.

More than 20 women had the chance to learn about the art and basic principles of the unique arrangement, which strives for harmony with nature.

“The Beautiful Japanese” welcomes all flower lovers to the ballroom of Press Club Hanoi, 59A Ly Thai To street, from 9am until 3pm on March 1.-VNA
