VietNamNet Bridge – In the afternoon on September 30, a Japanese female teacher was crashed to death in front of a bus stop in HCM City while walking on crutches along the road to catch a bus.

At 3.30pm, Ms. Kakinuma Joji, 50 years old, Japanese national walked with crutches from the Ben Thanh bus station across the street to catch a bus home in District 7. The woman was said to slip and fall.
At the same time, a bus running on the route from the National University to Le Hong Phong Road was approaching the Ben Thanh bus station. The driver could not react quickly, the bus ran over the woman, killing her on the spot. The bus driver left the scene.
Local police were present to handle the accident.
Ms. Kakinuma Joji is a teacher of the Oriental Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of HCM City. She lived in Saigon for six years. The Japanese teacher suffered from leg bone degeneration so she had to use crutches.
Being informed of the accident, many students were present. "Every day Ms. Kakinuma Joji catches two buses from District 7 to the Ben Thanh bus stop and then another bus to the school. Besides teaching at school, she taught at home," a student said.
The accident is being investigated by the authorities.
