According to the Vietnam Maritime Rescue Co-operation Centre (VNMRCC) region IV, at around 9:15 pm on December 5, the agency received an urgent call for help from the tourist cruise Ocean Dream’s captain about the Japanese tourist’s critical condition.
The Japanese tourist on a Panama-flagged cruise ship has been saved from stroke
Makino Tsuneji showed signs of stroke and being in a coma. At that time, the ship which was travelling from Singapore to China was around 170 nautical miles from the southeast of Nha Trang City’s coast. The area where the ship was faced rough waves and strong winds due to Storm Kammuri.
Right after that, the centre instructed the first aid for the patient and then sent rescue vessel SAR27-01 for the support.
After 14 hours, the Vietnamese ship brought the Japanese man ashore safely. He was then hospitalised for the treatment.
