President of Khazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, will pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 31 to November 1 at the invitation of State President Truong Tan Sang.
The visit-the first by a top Kazakhstani leader-aims to strengthen relations between the two countries, and promote cooperation in politics and other potential areas such as oil and gas, agriculture, investment, culture, and education and training.
The two sides will exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and their future coordination in international forums.
Bilateral economic cooperation falls short of its potential, with two-way trade reaching merely US$38.21 million in 2010.
