VietNamNet Bridge – Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry has decided to appoint a Vietnamese citizen as its Honorary Consul in Ho Chi Minh City.
The decision was handed over to Nguyen Thanh Hung by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Vietnam Beketzan Zhumakhanov on July 18 in the City.
Vietnam and Kazakhstan share many similarities and the two countries are building a close relationship especially in trade, the honorary consul said at the event.
He pledged to boost economic, trade, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Hung also called on Kazakhstan businesses to invest in Vietnam, and vowed to assist Vietnamese firms to seek opportunities in Kazakhstan.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Kazakhstan reached over 220 million in 2013.
