“With this album, I would like audiences to see another me, a more rebellious one who can sing rock tunes. It can be said the album marks my transformation. The title of the album itself also bears meaning. I’m no longer a pupa lying inside a cocoon, I’m an adult butterfly,” the 34-year-old singer said.

The album features five songs, all by the HCM City-based songwriter Vu Minh Tam, whose song Ve Voi Dong (Come Back with Winter) won the title ‘Song of the Year’ at Viet Nam Television’s Vietnamese Song programme. This prize-winning song has also been featured in this album.

Linh began her musical career in 2003 when she was 20 years old, when she claimed third prize in the National Television Competition, which is now Vietnam’s most reputable singing contest Sao Mai Diem Hen (Morning Star – Rendezvous).

In 2004, she won third prize at an international pop rock music festival in Mongolia. That same year, she released her debut album Hoa Mi Hot Trong Mua featuring several songs by her older brother, songwriter Ngoc Chau. Along with the theme song Hoa Mi Hot Trong Mua, other songs on the album, including Co Tam Ngay Nay (Present’s Cinderella) and Thang Tu Ve (April Has Arrived) became some of her major hits.

Her other album Ban Mai Xanh (Green Sunrise), and Sau Con Mua (After Rain) were released in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

Her voice has also been featured on albums by famous Vietnamese songwriters Do Bao and Giang Son, as well as in several movie soundtracks.
