VietNamNet Bridge – Tran Duy Khoi set five national records at the National Age Groups Swimming Championships on the final day of competition in HCM City yesterday, May 20.
The 15-year-old shone in the boys' 15-17 events including the 200m freestyle, 400m team medley, 50m and 100m backstroke and 400 individual medley.
At a national event held last September, Khoi also set one record in the 200m individual medley.
Khoi's outstanding performance helped the hosts HCM City take the lead with 54 golds, 43 silvers and 25 bronzes. Long An came second with 18 golds, 14 silvers and 14 bronzes. Quang Binh finished third with nine golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes.
The tournament's best athletes will be chosen for the national youth team to compete in the upcoming Southeast Asian Age Groups Swimming Championships.
