Saigon Polar Expo, a newly established ice entertainment venue,
has opened to the public at Him Lam new urban area in District 7, HCMC.
With
temperatures of 15 degrees below zero Celsius, the ice house covers
over 1,600 square meters with a five-meter-high ceiling and 11 sets of
scenes.
The giant warehouse-like area features numerous beautiful
ice sculptures of different shapes with special visual and sound
effects.
There, guests can build icemen, throw ice balls, enjoy ice sliding, drop by an ice bar for a drink or admire a photo exhibition.
According
to Ngo Trong Nghia, general director of Saigon Food Trading and Service
JSC (FFC), the project’s investor, around VND50 billion has been spent
on Saigon Polar Expo and it will be opened to the public from April 14,
2016 to February 28, 2017.
Nghia said that during a trip to Taiwan
to look for business partners, a delegation of the company found the
concept of Polar Expo in Taiwan had lured throngs of visitors for five
years of its operation.
The company invited a Taiwanese partner to HCMC to build Saigon Polar Expo.
Through
the project, developers FFC and Him Lam Vikid want to raise children’s
awareness of global warming and environmental protection since Vietnam
has suffered from natural disasters.
The two partners will join
hands with the HCMC Youth Union and HCMC Association of Victims of Agent
Orange/Dioxin to organize free tours of Saigon Polar Expo for unlucky
kids.
Tickets for adults and children are equally priced at VND180,000 per person on normal days and VND210,000 on holidays.
There
are promotional prices for guests who purchase tickets at Vietopia at
2-4 Road No.9 in Him Lam new urban zone in District 7, and Tan Dat Thuan
trade and service company at 4 Ut Tich Street in HCMC’s Tan Binh
District.
