Do you have children under 6 years old? Are you looking for a place where your babies are given an opportunity to play with a variety of age-appropriate toys while you are learning new parenting skills?
If so, “Kidzplay”, a new play center at Number 19, To Huu Street, Hanoi, should be on your list.
The “Kidzplay” center started its new days with tons of children’s smiles and laughs.
The play area is highlighted with a giant wooden climber model located on the right and a ball house that’s perfect for the children to play with.
The children especially like a game called “Sasuke kid”, in which they have to overcome many barriers set intentionally before reaching the final destination.
It’s easy to see how happy those kids are when dimming themselves in the atmosphere of exploration and discovery in the activities, where everyone has fun, makes friends, and learns along the way.
- “It’s very happy here as I have many new friends around to play with.”
- “This is the first time I came here. It’s very interesting that I have the opportunity to experience many art activities.”
The project was established recently by Chu Phuong Chi, who used to be a teacher at Hanoi Amsterdam High School.
For Chi, Kidzplay is not simply a play center; it’s a dream of a teacher, a young mother who is still on her way to search for the appropriate methods for raising children.
Chi said, “I used to take my children to play centers, in which the children play violent games such as free-shooting and action games. As a mother, I realize that this is not a good choice as those violent games somehow effects directly to the children’s personality. That’s why I establish Kidzplay, where all games are designed with educational purposes."
"Coming to Kidzplay, the toddlers from 0 to 6 are able to experience a range of fun and creative activities, which help strengthen their cognitive, physical, and to promote their social-emotional skill building,” she said.
Unlike other typical game center where the toddlers play with game machines, this barrier-free play center, which is filled with creative toys, art supplies, and books, is packed with fun for little ones ages zero to six.
Mrs Tran Phuong Thanh, whose son participated in Kidzplay’s activities, shared, “My kid and I came here twice. It’s easy to recognize that, for the same activity, my kid would rather play here than play at home. The professional guidance from the teachers, the opportunity to make new friends, and the fun atmosphere here attracted him so much.”
Kidzplay intended for family members to better interact through several creative activities, for example making traditional toys from banana leaves, drawing sunflower using toothbrush, making fireworks using milk and water colors, and so on.
Chi said, “Each weekend, there will be 1 or 2 new creative activities, for example, this week, we hold 2 classes instructing children on how to build a toy car and making handmade chocolate. Parents can join in or take a rest and enjoy coffee while watching their children playing. Besides, Kidzplay is also a destination for parents to learn and discuss their children development."
"In the upcoming time, we are scheduled to open thematic seminar, in which the specialists and invited parents will discuss topics including breast feeding, kid-raising, and ways to interact with and foster the child’s development,” she said.
In Kidzplay, parents are encouraged to immerse themselves in the wonder that children experience through play and exploration.
By spending time playing with or observing children play, parents could learn more about their children’s thoughts, feelings, motivations, and struggles, sometimes, better than by just talking with them.
Thanh said, “The Kidzplay activities not only focus on the children, but also help strengthen the parent-children bonding. Nowadays, as parents are busier with tons of work, they don’t devote enough time for their kids, thus, those creative activities like this are opportunities for moms and dads to learn more about parenting, and for the kids to feel loved and cherished from parents.”
Even established recently, the project attracts the attention from many parents and children alike. Chi’s mother, Mrs. Dao Thi Suu, couldn’t hide her happiness seeing her daughter’s project develop so well.
She said, “Chi opened the center to provide kids a comfort place to play. The activities are diverse, focusing on creative activities, through which those children can develop social and cognitive skills. The weekends are likely to be much more crowded than normal, especially from 7 to 9am. As a mother, I felt really happy about that”.
The Kidzplay center now a destination of many parents and children to come to learn and play.
With educational purposes, the center is hoped to yield better success in the upcoming time.
