The festival hopes to have at least 2,500 participants, and will help promote Vietnam’s tourism.

The event will be organised by Index Creative Village in collaboration with AirAsia and AirAsia X as part of the new concept of “RUN, EAT, FUN IN ONE GO.”

"KILORUN is an international festival of fully integrated RUN, EAT and FUN in one go,” said Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Index Creative Village PLC and the Creative Director of KILORUN, at a press conference in Hanoi on November 14. “We choose the prominent and unique charming cultural cities of Asia, particularly, the native gorgeous dishes which are the signature dishes of each country.”

“The originality and the fun of the event is that the contestants enjoy delicious dishes while running and passing the beautiful landmarks of these iconic cities which are considered as the main highlight of this event,” said Kanjanapokin. “Each city, with its own unique charms and culture, will witness the atmosphere of happiness and fun that will attract domestic and foreign runners and food lovers.”

KILORUN HANOI 2019 will be held under two categories, including KM (kilometer) and KG (kilogram). KM category has the registration time from 5:00am to 8:30am at Ly Thai To Park. Runners will travel past Hanoi’s iconic attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the Hanoi Old Quarter, the Ha Noi Opera House and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It is divided into three distances (10.7km, 6.7km and 2.3km).

The KG category has the registration time from 2:00pm to 6:30pm. The runners can walk or run while tasting or eating the gorgeous food which will be served at different landmark points on the 2.3km route.

All contestants will be able to experience the charms of the unique city and try national signature dishes like bún chả (barbecued pork with rice vermicelli noodles), bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls) and xôi xéo (sweet sticky rice).
