The ancient pagoda of Phuoc Kien, known as King Lotus Pagoda in Chau Thanh district in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has attracted tourists due to unique giant lotus leaves.

Tourists flock to Phuoc Kien pagoda in Hoa Tan commune, Chau Thanh district in September and October to enjoy giant lotus leaves.

A lotus leaf has a diameter of 2-3 metres and can withstand a maximum weight of 140 kg.

A small lotus pond in front of the pagoda. Going around to the right, visitors will find another big lotus pond.

Entrance to the pagoda is free, but it costs VND20,000 for taking a photo.

Apart from visiting the pagoda, tourists can visit other destinations in Dong Thap such as Tram Chim National Park, and enjoy local cuisine.
