The investment by US-based Mondelez International Group in its confectionery business still needs approval from Kinh Do’s shareholders.

Before Mondelez International pours capital in Kinh Do, the Vietnamese company will complete its restructuring plan to merge all confectionery businesses into one. Mondelez International will invest $370 million, equivalent to 80% shares of the restructured confectionery business.

Kinh Do Board of Directors will propose this transaction to the shareholders at a meeting of shareholders on December 1.

Mondelēz International, Inc. is an American multinational confectionery, food and beverage conglomerate, employing around 107,000 people around the world. It comprises the global snack and food brands of the former Kraft Foods.

The Mondelēz name, adopted in 2012, came from the input of Kraft Foods employees at the time, Monde being French for world and delez an alternative to delicious.

Mondelēz International manages well-known snack brands around the globe, including cookies and crackers (Oreo; Chips Ahoy!; TUC; Belvita; Triscuit; Club Social; and Barni), chocolate (Milka, Côte d'Or, Toblerone, and Cadbury Dairy Milk), and gum and candy (Trident, Chiclets, Halls, Stride, and Cadbury Dairy Milk Eclairs).

Mondelez International Asia Pacific is a subsidiary of Mondelez International, specializing in products biscuits, chocolate, chewing gum, candy, coffee and powdered beverage with revenues of more than $5 billion in this region.

Kinh Do is a business group with an emphasis on food production, including baked goods, confections, snacks and soft drinks. The corporate group also includes companies in the fields of financial services, real estate and a retail bakery chain. Kinh Do Corporation manages a wide variety of brand names, distributes imported brand name snack and candy goods, and manufactures food for export from Vietnam.
